There are moments when there’s this lump in my throat and I just stare in wonder. Like right now. While all my littles are snug in their beds (well, except the almost-16-year-old), and my house is quiet (besides the stirring of the washer and dryer), I am looking at these pictures and thinking….do we really have FIVE children? When did this happen? Have we really been married TWENTY years? Am I actually 40-something?
Yes, yes, yes. This is my crazy blessed life. My house is filled with lots of noise and Legos. I break up fights and worry about college. Don’t even ask me about my sanity level during basketball season, with three boys on three different teams, practicing three different nights each week and playing three different days….are there even enough days in a week for all that? Five children = five personalities = five sets of various needs depending upon the stage of life they’re experiencing at the time. It can be quite overwhelming.
But gosh I wouldn’t trade it for anything. In fact, I always dreamed of having a house full of children. I’m definitely living my dream. I love these precious ones.
So enjoy this little peek into my family…..perfectly imperfect. I’m humbled and honored to be their mother.
These images just begged to be processed as grainy black and whites. The sand, the surf, the hair blowing everywhere. It reminds me of some old beach pictures my dad took back in the 60s.
Please follow the Motherhood blog circle around and enjoy some lovely images. Next up is the beautiful Rebecca Penny Photography in Houston.
